I'm traveling light, it's au revoir… leaving my two cents here and there.

Slow down, you’re doing fine!

I’ve sent Vienna to more than a few friends over the years, usually when they’re trying to fit an entire life into the next six months.

There’s always something to catch up with. A career milestone, a relationship, money, a project, a version of yourself you somehow think you should already have become.

I understand the feeling. I’m not particularly good at standing still either. I like having something ahead of me, something to build, learn, fix, experience, or become better at. The problem is that after a while, moving forward can quietly turn into rushing.

And rushing has a strange way of making even good things feel late.

That’s probably why that one line in Vienna has always stayed with me. It doesn’t tell you to stop being ambitious. It doesn’t say you should want less from life.

Just: slow down. You’re doing fine.

You don’t have to experience everything today. You don’t have to become everyone you might eventually become this year. Some things are supposed to take time.

Whenever I send the song to someone, they almost always like it. Maybe we all need to hear the same thing every once in a while.

There’s time.
